Okay this question comes in from coop.
Where are isopods supposed to be placed in a home?Just woundering.Thanks in advance.

Coop, here is my answer:
I'd keep them where its cool but not too cold.I'd say room temps maybe a little lower.I keep mine in my room with no proplems.The basement would work a charm if you don't feel like having a huge bin in your room.Then i'd suggest keeping an eye on it just to make sure pests don't get into the bin such as spiders

You called spiders a pest =(. Normal spiders are a pest yes but Ill have you know the tarantula hobby uses isopod to eat mold and left overs. With species like Holothele incei that can live in colonies they are great as when a colony starts reproducing you dont know the number of spiders so It is hard to perform maintenance like new cages and new substrate.

hi im 11 years old and im doing a project on isopods in genral for next years middle school classes ur probably thinking wow! but anyways i want to be ahead on isopods when we start learning about them and i was wondering how many cubic inches does the bin have to be to hold pill bugs and if i do start a colony how long do they live for please awnser my questions thank u :)
